I have assisted with 2 episodes of Ducks Unlimited TV. One was a Missouri Turkey hunt and the other was a Missouri duck hunt out of MOmarsh layout boats with Wade Bourne.

My passion for water fowling has been lifelong and all encompassing. Like all waterfowlers I love to be in the marsh on a clear crisp morning listening to the sounds and watching the sites of a marsh coming to life! Where I deviate from the majority is that my focus on waterfowling is driven into creation of other products, decoys and a lifestyle that revolves around ducks. Even our family vacations are at duck camp instead of Disney world most of the time!

I have come to enjoy the challenges and rewards of habitat management in wetland environments. It is kind of like hunting in that conditions are always changing and there is always something to learn. We spend hours on the phone every week dissecting our ever-changing plan on what should go where in the way of plants and water. The ducks get to be the judge of how successful our management strategies are and they seem to approve!

I am fortunate to have had the opportunity to travel to many different hunting locales. I have come to appreciate many of the most memorable aspects of any hunt go far beyond pulling the trigger. New environments and hunting styles are as intriguing to me as are the number and type of duck. I am also very lucky to have many local hunting areas and options. Repeated successes and failures in different situations are what build experience and makes one a better hunter. Every time I am in the field, I hope to learn something and I usually do!

My favorite style of hunts are ones where mobility, concealment and observations of past or present situations lead to a successful hunt! Hunting out of boats and portable blinds is what I really enjoy.
